History of the Parrish Ranch Apple Shed The first apple tree in Oak Glen was planted on the ranch in the late 1860's by Enoch Parrish. From that small beginning has grown a mountain-wide apple industry in which Parrish Pioneer Ranch plays a substantial part. Many varieties of apples are grown here under the direction of Juan Vasquez, ranch foreman since 1941. Depending on the harvest, apples are on sale from late August into the new year. The apple barn also offers its own line of cider, apple butter, jams and jellies. We feature Granlunds hand dipped chocolates and a complete snack bar. Shop here also for that special gift from our unique collection of the unusual. |
